Even just in the past few months, Aglet (who will be seven in November) seems to have gotten a lot more thoughtful. Not only has he been thinking a lot about death, in both philosophical and practical terms, but he's beginning to make jokes and use sarcasm, and he's a more capable conversationalist altogether. His drawings are also a lot better than just a year ago, as you'll see when I post the comic we collaborated on (shown above). And his Lego skills are off the charts.
During my most recent visit, from which I just returned yesterday, I told him what an antihero is, and his mother taught him how to make up limericks. (I have a friend with whom I went through a period of trading limericks, which are kind of addictive. We're not exactly Friedrich der Grosse and Voltaire, but I think we came up with some good ones, especially the one he wrote that incorporated the name of an antipsychotic.)
