I am fascinated by this whole "War on Christmas" idea. There's a genus of American Christian that seems to feel the lack of persecution acutely, and likes to try the idea on like a pair of glasses at the drugstore. Guys, you're not oppressed. And that's good. People shouldn't be oppressed for their religious beliefs. That is one of the founding principles of this great country. Did you know that America was the first nation to grant full legal protection to Jews? Isn't that cool? I certainly hope you think it's cool.
The combat dreidel, incidentally, kind of makes sense, being as how the Jewish winter solstice celebration is military in character. If there were a war on Christmas, the Maccabees would pwn the whole thing. Then we'd all have doughnuts.
