This is oxytocin, that pesky hormone and neurotransmitter, responsible for all kinds of things, including pair-bonding -- that nutty feeling of being one with another creature. My last reliable source of oxytocin was, of course, the cat. I would lie on the sofa and she would lie on me and we would gaze into each other's eyes in a way that I'm sure would have looked very serious from the outside, as if we were scanning each other's brain for secrets vital to national security, but that from the inside felt like being swept along on a mindless caressing tide of love. That's what oxytocin does to you.
I'm very pleased with the way this drawing came out. The colors have a kind of chunkiness that reminds me of Van Gogh. What do you think, would it make a good card? Maybe I could do a series of them. Dopamine has this rather workmanlike shape, and here's my reluctant friend serotonin. I'm in ur brane, etc.
