I can never get that kid's hair right.
There's a certain solipsism unique to small children. A lot of parenting, I have learned from watching my sister and brother-in-law in action, is reminding them that other people exist until they get so they can remind themselves.
Speaking of small children, children even smaller than Aglet, my niece Luna turns one on Wednesday. Isn't that something? She has a few little proto-words, one of which is "Hi," only she says it in this delighted drawn-out way, like "Hhhhiiiiii." I defy anyone not to be charmed by this.
