The Sorrows of Young Werewolf

In case you want to hit on a mathematician, or something

So yesterday was Purim and today is St. Patrick's Day, and I'm descended on one side from Jews and on the other from misspelled Scotch-Irish farmers, so religion mandates that I should be in the middle of a forty-eight-hour bender, but I've been editing instead, which is not as much fun but pays better. The confluence of the two holidays of course reminds me of lyricist George M. Cohan, whose last name reflected his Irish Catholic ancestry. The story goes that he was once refused a room at a swanky hotel because its policy was not to accommodate Jews. His alleged response set the record straight: "You thought I was a Jew, and I thought you were a gentleman."
