This sort of thing doesn't happen when I work from home

I'm pretty sure that even if I were immortal this would never have occurred to me if the head copy editor at this office hadn't informed me of it. I like Byron because he's a village explainer, like me. That is a term Dorothy Parker used to describe Ezra Pound, but I think it also describes most copy editors. We KNOW things and we have to TELL someone those things because YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT about the Twinkies, did you? Not everyone appreciates this, but I assure you, we are not merely lecturing; in our clumsy way we are trying to make a real human connection with you. By telling you about Twinkies. At least that's what I'm doing.
