The Sorrows of Young Werewolf

The heart is a lonely rodent

I want to thank emmycantbemeeko and cynna66 for their elegantly simple suggestion that I succor Melissa with a hooded sweatshirt. She seems to enjoy this new garment very much: when the hood is up she can crawl into it and be pressed against my shoulder; when the hood is down she can ride in it like a young marsupial; and, best of all, when I sort of bunch the hood up under my head she can lie on it and snooze there against my neck while I go about my business. She can also wander around the region of my torso, and though she has not shown much interest in it so far, there is always the front pocket. Over the past few days there has been much bruxing in the region of my nape. And it may be my imagination, but I think she has been eating more.

So it's a huge win. It has had one unexpected consequence, though: it seems that having a warm thing against my neck for a while makes me sleepy. Good thing Dr. Waterford gave me that prescription for amphetamines!
