Federal agents mad 'cause I'm flagrant

In her inescapable Top 40 hit "Glamorous," singer Fergie offers the fact that she "still [goes] to Taco Bell" as evidence that she is "still real." Here is a list of the things I will continue to do when I am rich and famous, just so everyone knows that I am still real:

  • Rock out to the ten-dollar walkman I got at Duane Reade, of which the tape deck no longer works
  • Filch bagels from offices in which I am not working that day, in order to save the sixty-five cents
  • Go without health insurance of any kind for eight years

Of course, this is the same song that contains the line "If you ain't got no money take your broke ass home," but maybe Fergie just wants all the broke people to clear out of the Taco Bell so she can get her cheesarito faster. "Glamorous" is one of several hit songs from Fergie's debut album, The Dutchess. Note to Fergie: The landed gentry of bygone Europe also enjoyed slumming, but at least they could spell.
